Giving clients a closing gift after the sale and/or purchase of a home is standard practice for most realtors. It’s a nice touch and a wonderful way to make a lasting impression with your clients, but we wanted to do more.
Recently, The Oldham Group made the decision to move away from giving clients gift cards as closing gifts. While it’s true that everyone appreciates a gift card to Lowe’s or one of their favorite stores, we wanted to do something more. Something that would make a bigger impact across the board. As of May 1, 2015 The Oldham Group will make a charitable donation to the charity of our client’s choice in their name. We will provide our clients with the following list below and then write a check for them on closing day. Making this change not only makes sense, but it is in line with who we are as a company.
After all, a closing gift may be the last contact we have with some of our clients for a while, so it’s important to us to let them know we care; truly and authentically. We feel that giving them the ability to make a donation to a charity they are passionate about will ultimately be a unique and special experience shared by all of us.
