When the market turns this sharply, there are a multitude of typical real estate sins that can be forgiven! Experts say the US housing shortage is far from over -US inventory levels were at 1 million units in January 2020 and are now less than half of that, sitting a little over 400,000 in January 2022.
In this deep seller’s market, these 3 real estate sins are now forgiven, maybe even rewarded!Â
1. PRICING TOO HIGH
In a more normal market, pricing your home too high was a cardinal real estate sin, often backfiring on over-confident sellers. Their big-ticket homes would unintentionally make the competition look more attractive. I still believe that pricing way out in front of the market could have negative consequences, but with so few homes to choose from, buyers can’t be choosy! Today an over-priced home will still sell but it might take more than one weekend!
