Summer Selling Season is HERE

Real estate, just like the weather, typically heats up in the summer. May through July are the months with the largest sales volume. Here are a few outdoor upgrades that will help you beat the HEAT and the competition!

INSTALL A POOL

Conventional wisdom about installing a pool changed post-pandemic. In today’s market, buyers want pools AND are willing to pay for them! Pools offer a place to entertain guests, a space for kids to hang out and relief during sweltering temperatures. Pools make your home both more marketable and valuable. Need some help selecting a contractor, give me a call!

PLANT TREES

Planting trees might not be the most exciting project, but it certainly pays off. Planting trees is one of the best ways to add value to your home because they add aesthetic value to any back or front yard. They also provide privacy, shade and generally improves a home’s curb appeal. In Central Texas, you have lots of great options. My favorites are the Live Oak or Chinkapin Oak. MORE
OUTDOOR LIVING SPACES

In Austin Texas, our summer can last from May until October so being able to enhance your living area with covered outdoor spaces like decks, patios and  pergolas with kitchens and weather proof TV’s are BIG selling features. Don’t forget the lighting! Need some suggestions for outdoor upgrades that will add the most value to your property, I’ll come by for a look!

SUMMER is a GREAT time to sell, but it’s not the ONLY time. Let’s talk about your YOUR situation, goals and timeline.

CUSTOM HATS

The sun is brutal in Texas, and you have to experience a custom hat. It’s always in fashion to wear a cowboy hat and when the temperatures hit triple digits there’s nothing like a good straw hat for some personal shade! In Austin you’re in luck as there are so many great hat companies, here are my two favorites: Ras Redwine and Trovdor.
SKI SHORES NOW OPEN

An Austin tradition since 1954, Ski Shores on Lake Austin in NOW OPEN. Local hospitality company, McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality (MML), bought the concept in 2021. The Barton Springs Rd location was turned into Lou’s and the Lake Austin location was revitalized. Just in time for summer, boat on in for a burger!!!  NOW OPEN
ICE CREAM

Zeds Ice Cream is located at  1814 Harvey St., in East Austin. This creamy ice cream starts in vanilla form and gets a flavor boost from the addition of real fruit — the freshest the Zeds folks can get their hands on — from strawberries and raspberries to blueberries and mango. Other ice destinations: Jeni’s , Amy’s, & LICK

BEST ATX MARGARITA

Margaritas are a classic drink that we all know and love. It’s definitely one of Austin’s favorite summer drinks so here’s a guide to the best ones in town! They are sure to cool you off and chill you out! 24 of the Best Margaritas in Austin.

SWIMMING & SPLASHING
VOLENTE BEACH

Austin offers a wide range of swimming and splashing options from our city operated community pools to new attractions like the Kalahari Resort in Round Rock, but you can’t beat Volente Beach! The Beachside Billy’s restaurant offers great burgers and they have a Summer Movie Series. Book your VIP seating for the VIP on July 3rd. MORE
