If you follow me on IG or FB you know that I’m a student of STYLE! I work to stay up to date with the latest trends looking to experts in fashion, architecture, furniture, graphic design and interiors to stay abreast of what’s current, fresh and relevant.  I consider it homework because it helps me to advise our clients on what they should do to make their homes ready for market. A tastefully presented home sells faster and for more money…that’s the SUBSTANCE

Here are some of my favorite places to find your design inspiration.

Q: “Courtney, What’s happening in he market?”
A: It’s the lowest amount of inventory I’ve ever seen!

I’ve been selling real estate in Austin Texas for about 15 years and I’ve never seen inventory levels this low. In “normal” times, we’ll see about 9,000 homes on the market in the Austin MSA (market service area which includes Round Rock, Kyle, Buda, etc.). At last check, there were just over 6,500 homes, roughly a 28% drop.

As you can tell from our Featured Property section of this newsletter, almost everything we list has gone into multiple offers, sold over our asking price in one weekend.

While many segments of our economy have been adversely impacted by the current state of affairs, residential real estate in Austin has only gotten busier

We see many clients who are no longer tied to a physical work location and have decided to move closer to family. We’ve seen people decide to “move up” to a bigger home so the have room for home schooling and a home gym. We’ve seen downsizing and even moves out of the country. Whatever the reason for making a move, people are generally feeling compelled to “make it happen”. There is a sense that nothing is guaranteed in life and now is the time to act.

If you’re thinking about a move and want to know more about what types of strategies work in this market, give me a call.

AUSTIN’S MUSIC SCENEBLACK PUMAS

Matt’s El Rancho – Bob Armstrong Dip

Former Texas land commissioner Bob Armstrong was a Matt’s El Rancho regular. Apparently bored of the typical menu offerings, Armstrong asked owner Matt Martinez Jr. to make something just for him. Martinez added a scoop of beef taco meat and a scoop of guacamole to the restaurant’s queso, and Tex-Mex history was made.” Paula Forbes.

Conspirare

Conspirare, which translates from Latin as “to breathe together,” is led by founder and Artistic Director Craig Hella Johnson, and is comprised of soloists from around the country.
