Buydown Strategies, Proposed Code Changes & Vote for the Parks, Property Tax Relief

October 27, 2023

Hamilton Pool Sink Hole

Parks & Property Taxes

Early voting has begun in Texas and there are three measures on the ballot critical for property tax relief and funding parks in Travis County and across the state of Texas. The Oldham Group proudly endorses both Travis County bond proposals and proposed Propositions 1, 4 and 14.

State of Texas: Vote YES on Prop 4
Proposition 4 would allow the state to spend $18 billion on property tax cuts for homeowners and businesses, cut school districts’ tax rates and enact other tax changes.

Travis County: Vote YES on Prop A and Prop B

Prop A: Proposes multi-modal transportation infrastructure investment for projects that address mobility and safety challenges. Each project prioritizes active transportation infrastructure including sidewalks, bike lanes and shared-use paths.

Prop B: Proposes investment in new and better parks, hike and bike trails, sports facilities and open spaces. Includes funds for land acquisition and conservation to help protect regional air and water quality.

Find out more about Prop A and Prop B at www.travistwostep.com.

State of Texas: Vote YES on Prop 14
The proposed constitutional amendment would create the Texas Centennial Parks Conservation Fund to invest $1 billion in new parkland for the State Parks system.

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Early voting runs OCT. 23 – NOV. 3.
  • Election Day is NOV. 7.
  • The last day to request a mail-in ballot is OCT. 27.

New Buydown Strategies

New Buydown Strategies

Rising mortgage rates can make it more costly to own a home. A 1% rate increase can cost an additional $100 to $200 each month, reducing purchasing power for some borrowers. We’re helping our sellers respond to a more competitive environment by doing more than just reducing price. Many times, we get more bang for the buck by offering a rate buydown. There are permanent buydown options and those offered for fixed terms. Let’s talk about your selling strategy, call Courtney 512-809-5495.
