Austin has some ghoulish ways to celebrate Halloween. From seasonal movie series, haunted houses and parties at your favorite local bars to kid-friendly events like corn mazes and Boo at the Zoo, here are some favorite festive events, activities, and things to do in Austin to celebrate this spooky week! 


HALLOWEEN EVENTS

HEARSE LIMO TOURS
@Austin Haunted
October 25 – November 2 

Experience Austin’s historical landmarks with a bit of a twist. This tour visits historic Austin locations that are reportedly haunted or have experienced paranormal activity, including the Tavern, Clay Pit, Littlefield House at UT, and more. 

DARK HARVEST, HAUNTED TRAIL 
@ Pioneer Farms
Thursday, October 31 7:00- 11:00 PM 

Creepy scarecrows, dark-side spooks and all things scary will be featured at the Haunted Halloween Trail.  

Ghost Run haunted trail has spook lights, ghastly scarecrows, a haunted barn and more.  Dia de los Muertos activities and lots of family fun activities are on Scream Street 

HITCHCOCK HALLOWEEN
@ East Austin Hotel 
Thursday, October 31 

Head over to East Austin Hotel’s rooftop bar and lounge, The Upside, on for an evening of tunes by DJ CASS&RA, Happy Hour specials all night long, including $2 off appetizers, $2 off house cocktails & wines by the glass,$1 off draft beer and a $5 Norman Bates spookified cocktail. Dress for the costume contest. 

Día de los Muertos 
@Mexican American Cultural Center
Saturday, November 2  3:00 -8:00 PM

Honor the tradition of Dia de los Muertos at the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center on November 2. This celebration features local musicians, dancers and artists, an altar exhibition, children’s activities and crafts, face painting, food trucks and pan de muerto.

BOO AT THE ZOO
Saturday, October 26  6:30 – 9:00 PM

Boo at the Zoo is a fun-filled evening for ghosts and goblins of any age. Come dressed in your Halloween finest and enjoy our Zoo-wide event including the Zoo bedecked in Halloween spookiness, our nocturnal animals, an eerie train ride and unlimited passes through our mansion. Tickets to certain special items within Boo at the Zoo are limited. 


OLDHAM GROUP FALL FESTIVAL

It was a perfect day for the 7th Annual Oldham Group Fall Festival. We had potato sack races, bobbed for apples, jumped in the bounce house, visited the barn animals, went on hayrides and ate great chili.
