There’s no doubt that Austin’s future is bright, but we’ll face some challenges. Here are a few things to look forward to (a couple might make you cringe a little).


It seems fitting to mention Tesla in this newsletter since last night was the Gigafactory Grand Opening. Tesla likes Texas and others are following suit. However, this isn’t entirely new to Austin. In fact, Austin has been a hub for technical innovation for years, earning the moniker Silicon Hills, We expect more innovation to happen here as major companies like Meta, Google, Apple, Oracle and Tesla increase their operations in the area


Having trouble keeping up with all new tower announcements? You’re not alone! The future of Austin definitely includes a changing skyline. The most recent announcements include two projects by Carr Properties, one at 100 Congress and 99 Trinity St., south of Block 16. New residential projects like The Modern,¬†Vesper,¬†Conrad Residences by HIlton and others are on the rise as well.


In the decade ending in 2020 the Austin area saw a 33.7% increase in population. Census Bureau estimates show that Austin remains one of the top destinations for migrating talent. Austin ranked first among the 50 largest U.S. metros based on net migration as a percent of total population in 2019.¬†The 2040 projection…3,624,734


The Austin real estate market has become one of the most active real estate markets in all of the country. This year median homes values jumped to $625,905 which was a 1-Year appreciation rate of 40.4%. Our median home value is expected to rise at least 21.9% in 2022 and those forecasts seem modest when the lack of inventory is factored into the equation. 


There aren’t any easy solutions to Austin’s traffic issues, but Project Connect, $7.1 billion transit plan that includes adding two light rails, a commuter rail line, rapid bus service and more is a start. Recently there were meetings with Federal Transit officials about the project and it’s impact. It’s also promising to know innovators in the shipping and trucking automation industries like Ai Fleet¬†and¬†Einride are¬†here in Austin.
