As the summer days begin to grow just a little shorter and store shelves start to fill with backpacks and school supplies, it’s clear: August has arrived… and we’re soaking up the last stretch of summer in Austin.
But just because summer is winding down doesn’t mean the real estate market is cooling off. In fact, quite the opposite.
Today’s jobs report suggests that mortgage rates are holding steady — with the 30-year fixed averaging around 6.63%. For buyers, that stability combined with a healthy amount of inventory makes right now an ideal time to make a move.
For sellers, it’s equally important to take action. The market is competitive, yes — but motivated buyers are still out there, and they’re laser-focused on making something happen before year-end. Nationwide, year-over-year sales are slightly up, signaling that homes are moving — especially those that are priced right and presented in top condition.
