As summer begins to wind down the data from the last two months indicates our market is stabilizing. Today we find ourselves in a more buyer-friendly environment. Here are some of things we’re starting to see as the market corrects:
New home builders are starting to offer perks. These incentives vary by builder but can include buying down mortgage rates, seller-paid closing costs, fancier finishes and amenities, and lowering or not charging premiums for corner lots or views. Builders are also hosting events and parties again.
After two years of runaway prices, the housing market is starting to correct. It’s simply acting more normal…not everything is selling in one weekend. Savvy sellers are moving quickly to make price adjustment that align with market conditions and new buyer expectations. Keep in mind that prices are still appreciating overall, but that is slowing.
Sellers and lenders are looking for ways to keep buyers in the market. We’re seeing sellers offer interest rate buy-downs either in addition to or in lieu of making price reductions. Sellers are being more flexible with closing dates, paying for home warranties and even doing repairs.

FULL MOON PADDLE
Friday, August 12th | 7:30 PM
The Rowing Dock will host a fun-filled night of moon gazing on Lady Bird Lake with the downtown skyline as the backdrop. Each vessel will be equipped with a boating light and will be provided with light lanyards, but if you want to make your experience even more radiant, feel free to wear glow-in-the-dark gear.
