Farmhouse is still the most popular design style in the US. However, the Boho trend is gaining speed– it’s eclectic, combining ingredients both old and new, foreign and domestic and in a variety of textures. Here’s how to nail a Boho look…

TEXTURE

Boho style creates a cozy atmosphere with layers of texture. Tapestries, rugs, pillows, macrame and other natural fibers add to the depth, richness and warmth. Check out Nannie Inez and Take Heart here in Austin for their collection of contemporary and hard-to-find designs from around the world.

WOOD ACCENTS

Whether it’s installing a wood slat accent wall, using a live edge dining table, or hanging a wicker chandelier, Boho style commonly incorporates wood elements. The accent wall here is featured in our listing at 2101 Falcon Hill Dr.

PLANTS AND STEMS

Plants are a key element of Bohemian style – lots of plants! Think cacti in funky terracotta planters, vining plants in macrame hangers (seriously they are all over Etsy) and long feather plumes in a handmade pottery vase. Need more inspiration, check out my go to for all things green, Garden Seventeen.

POOFS & LOW LEVEL SEATS

From Scandinavian inspired low-level sofas to oversized floor pillows and poufs, Boho style embraces comfortable seating options. Contrary to popular belief, Boho can be incredibly elegant adding rich patterns and beautiful art. Check out Etch Design Group and notice how they combine styles to capture your personality.

July Market Report

AUSTIN, TX — The Austin-Round Rock MSA housing market continued to trend towards more normal and sustainable levels in July, according to the Austin Board of REALTORS® July 2022 Central Texas Housing Market Report.

Median price grew by only 8% year over year to $515,000, a record for the month of July but the first-time home price growth has been in the single digits since June 2020.

The region’s housing inventory reached 2.7 months — the highest level of inventory since November 2018.

Homes on the market today face more competition than they have had in years. If you’re looking to sell, let’s meet to discuss the price and condition that will make it happen! 📞 Courtney 512-809-5495.
