Summer’s Last Stretch

There’s something about the first week of August that feels different.

The mornings are just a little busier. School supply aisles are getting picked over. Parents are squeezing in one last summer adventure while simultaneously hunting down the right backpack and wondering where the time went. Summer hasn’t officially ended, but you can feel the season beginning to shift.

I’ve always found this time of year fascinating because it reminds me that life is made up of seasons. Some arrive with excitement, others with a little resistance. We look forward to fresh starts while quietly mourning the freedom we’re leaving behind. We crave routine, yet somehow miss the spontaneity almost as soon as it’s gone.
The truth is, we’re constantly learning how to navigate change.
That’s one of the reasons I think moving is so much more than a real estate transaction.

Very few people wake up and decide they simply want a different house. More often, a move is the outward expression of something much bigger happening underneath. A growing family. Empty nesters. A new job. Retirement. Divorce. Marriage. Loss. Opportunity. Hope.

The house is just the address.

The real story is the life that’s changing inside it.

That’s why I never see my job as simply helping people buy or sell property. It’s helping people find steady footing during one of life’s biggest transitions. There are financial decisions, emotional decisions, logistical challenges, and countless unknowns—but on the other side of all that change is the opportunity to build a life that better fits who you are becoming.

Maybe that’s what August is reminding all of us. The seasons move whether we’re ready or not. Our job isn’t to resist them. It’s to meet them with a little curiosity, a little courage, and the confidence that every new season has something worthwhile waiting for us.

Here’s to your next move!
