It’s Been a Long Time in the Making

A Little Background on Alo Creek

Four years ago, I found a piece of land that felt really special. At the time, I wasn’t thinking big enough to take on a development myself, so like a good real estate agent, I called a client and friend and said, “I’ve got something for you.” But I couldn’t shake the feeling that this project was meant to be part of my story too.

So we partnered up, formed a business named after our dogs, and set out on the journey to subdivide 13 acres into what is now Alo Creek. Needless to say, the market over the last four years has been a roller coaster. The original lot plan didn’t quite work out the way we envisioned, and the project tested us in every possible way. We had to think bigger, get bolder, raise more capital, and ultimately build our way through it. Funny enough, what seemed like the hardest pivot ended up becoming the best part of the journey.

When I first got into real estate over 20 years ago, one of the very first projects I worked on was BartonPlace, a 367-unit condo development on Barton Springs Road. Ever since then, I’ve quietly dreamed of becoming a builder and developer myself. Fast forward two decades and here we are: Alo Creek a curated 12-home boutique subdivision on 13 beautiful acres, featuring thoughtfully designed 4,000-square-foot homes, is finally coming to life.

I can’t say every chapter has been easy, but I can say I’ve learned more than I ever imagined. I’ve grown, I’ve been challenged, and I’ve been reminded that sometimes the harder road leads exactly where you’re supposed to go. And now… the form boards are going in, foundations are about to be poured, and this dream is becoming real. Our first two homes will be ready early 2027!
