Luxury Sales, Wealth Building & Rates
COMPASS sells luxury….lots of it! COMPASS agents sold almost 4,000 unique properties priced $4 million or more….and that excludes, referrals, rentals or commercial sales.
“They” say your home does not create wealth…..might “they” be wrong? Americans have more than $35 trillion in home equity, up 81% from the end of 2019, according to the Fed. That is an average of about $400,000 per U.S. homeowner. (John Burns)
Lower interest rates may fuel a resurgence of home improvement….. More homeowners are borrowing against the rising value of their properties, suggesting that the worst of the remodeling slump has passed. (WSJ)
Rates are up about .25% in rate this week and hovering around 6.90% per Mortgage News Daily. Rates have risen almost every day since Oct 15th and are up .72% since Oct 1st. We are suggesting to lock in ahead of the election with our float down option should rates fall back down .25% or more.
2024 will register the lowest volume of home sales since 1995, due to the combination of higher interest rates, record high prices, weak inventory in many areas and the lock-in effect of low mortgages: the lock-in effect has “prevented” the sale of an estimated 1.33 million homes. (MarketWatch)
